Outta this Town (*rewrite)

Outta this Town (*rewrite)

A Poem by Dennis Shanaberg
"

A Helluva Town

"

The grass is alway greener

My parents have been saying to me,

But the sun seems to be brighter

As far as I cannot see.

I got 20/20 in my rearview.

The stereo’s turned all the way up.

Playin’ California Dreamin’,

But the engine hiccups.

I wanna keep on goin’,

But the state lines divide.

I run outta cash for gas

And am stuck on this side.

I want outta this town.

Got the pedal all the way down.

I just want outta here now.

Someone please get me outta here.

Just get me outta here.

Get me outta this helluva town.
