Worth What She Shines LikeA Poem by Dennis Shanaberglove poems and suchI’ve got such a fickle heart, Pumping love through paper bags, And when I fill them far too full, Oh-- My chest it starts to sag. Then, she cast a wanton spell With sad eyes and trembled hands. Now, my heart’s full o’symphonies With bass lines and trebeled stands. I ask... Is she worth it. I swear She is worth it. Could she be--? This time She’s worth what she shines like. Forget the diamonds in the rough And pearls of stained glass. There’s a princess of poetry, And all I’d want, she has. She’s worth more--, she’s brighter than Anything that I’ve seen before. She burns like bright blue suns Till we’re shadows on the floor. © 2013 Dennis ShanabergReviews
