Silent Stained-Glass Eyes: Epilogue

Silent Stained-Glass Eyes: Epilogue

A Poem by Dennis Shanaberg
"

An older poem I found while cleaning

"

Guess it’s time for me to go

For reasons that I will never know.

I never learn what the problem is,

But I guess that problem now is his.

You said to me a stern goodbye--

Never answered my question, “why?”

I only ever tried to help you,

But I hope that is what he might do.

There’s a life for me out there,

And in time I think i’ll cease to care.

There’s something for me somewhere else.

I’ll be happy finding my someone else.

Kiss those kids good night for me.

Be the person that you want to be.

(I’m done giving you these helping hands.)

Now, it’s time for me to stand on my own,

With all new secrets yet to be known.
