Move Me to the Mountains

Move Me to the Mountains

A Poem by Dennis Shanaberg

Move me to the mountains.

They inspired me once again.

There are too many places that I haven’t been.

Take me to where the earth may bend.

The end of the world.

The edge of time.

Give me control of both

Or at least of my mind.

I’d frequent far off places if I could fly.

The forest through those trees makes me so high.

The confidence I feel on the edge of a cliff,

One more step; perhaps, I’d die,

But I’d much rather fly--

Fly so far--

So far to the end

The end of the world.

The edge of time.

Give me control of both

Or at least of my mind.
