Hi, I'm Den

A Poem by Den Zazela
"

This is a poem introducing myself

"
Hi, I'm Den

My mother left me. No.
My father cheated then my mother left me. No.
I was born then my father hated my mother, then he cheated, then she left me. No
I was abused by my stepmother.
My mother didn't leave me. No
My mother didn't leave me, I was taken from her
Daddy got married and my stepmother beat the crop out of me.
He lived happily ever after. No
No, he got divorced, divorced stepmother 1.
No, they had a kid
No, they had a kid, she beat me up and then they got divorced.

Hello mother 2. Yes
She repeated the same cycle, complete metamorphosis
She strangled my emotions
Battered and bruised my soul oh and yes my spirit too but daddy, daddy was too dim to see that the light was with the woman he took me from.
Yes. He lived happily ever after
With two kids
Me being the addition
The outlier
The deviation from Normal
The perversion
Rotten vegetable in a rack of perfect potatoes
I Am.

No. My mother left me. Yes
I was taken from her.
Emotion smothers my nostrils
Deactivates my muscle.
I can't fight back.
My version of events puzzled in streams of yes, no's
Could'ves
Should'ves

Oh, mother 1 would love this
Hi, I'm Den hiding behind poetry.
