The Joker (returned)

The Joker (returned)

A Poem by DenAtTheDBM

The joker inside me awoke,
The joker inside me spoke,
Anxious to continue creating,
"No more procrastinating."
The joker had been suppressed
As creatively I had regressed,
Replaced it with a more traditional fool
When trying to gain an additional tool.

The new tool was well received
A fool myself, I was deceived
I'd thought it to be a blessing
As I now must be confessing.

You see, in order to sell
The story I've yet to tell
I needed to learn the craft
Of making a photograph.

My imagination, once a fox
Now was trapped inside the box
Of capturing within the frame
A reality of limited game.

When I realized my true calling
And ended my creative stalling,
I'd say, "My lesson learned"
The day the joker returned.

I enjoyed the way this poem flowed.
The storyline held true, also.
Good reading!
Keep writing.
