Fade Away

Fade Away

A Poem by Demyra

The dream dissipates, and a simple state of conscious remains,
a vessel of empty ideology and cynic's ambitions entrapped,
confined to skin and bones, and all that this existence retains,
is the will to cease existence where purposes have overlapped.

Humanity is gone, and aspirations are as superficial as the lives we lost long ago,
somebody tell me I'm not the only one.
Purpose is gone, we're suffocating in a social construct of self inflicted bloodflow...

What difference is there to make in a society of indifference?
People live their lives to this social barbed wire and die dangling on a fence.
Ensnared by delusions of purpose, because we're of higher intelligence,
when we only, in futility, master ignorance, and die with due dilligence.

The only thing left for the human race to do is fade away,
there is no purpose in domesticated ambition.
