Cherished Lament

Cherished Lament

A Poem by Demyra

The world is ending,
doom is impending,
and yet the flowers still blossom.
innocence is dying,
earth itself is crying,
and yet the flowers still blossom.

We take in the sorrow, pain and hurt,
Happiness is a casualty in everyday life.
And we forget the ones who held our hand,
rather remember the ones who put the blood on our shirt,
and in turn pierce our own hearts with our own knife.
We're withering inside a life we can hardly understand...

Cherish the simple beauty of a rose amongst briars,
And hold close to you the truths you have in a world of liars.
The light is so much brighter when it cuts through the black,
and the broken home is so much more inviting on the way back.
Adhesive means so much to the man who was shattered,
and love can bring tears to one who never thought it mattered.

Everything has its faults,
everyone's life halts,
and yet the flowers still blossom.
The dead decompose and are gone forever,
tears are shed for there life, their best and worst endeavers.
And of all their memory all we derive is grief,
when all man desires is the happiness of another leaf...

Innocence is dying,
earth itself is crying,
and yet the flowers still blossom.
