Dare

Dare

A Poem by Demyra
"

A song I wrote recently...a lot softer than my older songs...

"

Dare

Consistence in your persistence,

the offensive breaks your defenses,

when you're beaten will you die?

Promise me you'll get up and try...

You bent-but you did not break,

you fell-but you don't lie there on the ground feeling sorry for yourself.

And you dare to stand up after you fall,

won't let the world bring you to your knees.

You dare to fight when others would stall,

and never let the enemy see you freeze.

You dare to use clever tactics to fight fire,

and your strength is something I truly admire.

You don't understand how your will can inspire,

you're one of few who hold out to our buyer.

Devestated and obliterated,

instigated and anticipated,

the world treats us like a toy.

So promise me you'll still be coy...

And I know,

sometimes you feel like you already fucked up,

and it's hard to get up once again.

I know it's hard, when all you've sucked up,

can end up swallowed in the end.

Trust me I know,

I know how much every single blow can hurt,

and you don't think you can take anymore.

You've bent, now don't you dare break,

you've fallen, but now's not the time to feel sorry for yourself...

So you dare to stand up after you fall,

won't let the world bring you to your knees.

You dare to fight when others would stall,

and never let the enemy see you freeze.

You dare to use clever tactics to fight fire,

and your strength is something I truly admire.

You don't understand how your will can inspire,

you're one of few who hold out to our buyer.

Promise me...

This is good. I love the last stanza. I thought that really said a lot. This is a great poem for inspiration!
