Mirror MirrorA Poem by DemyraMirror Mirror on the wall, who's the most pathetic of them all?Sing the sadness and speak the tragedy, Chemical beauty and narcissistic intoxication… Skin deep understanding, a shallow parody, Encrypted charisma a lethal detoxification… Mirror mirror on the wall, Who’s the most pathetic of them all? Silicon enhancements and botox smiles, A chemically altered monstrosity lost in vials… Mirror mirror, don’t you weep, To know your story’s only skin deep? Mirror mirror, painting a picture of poorly imitated perfection, Shallow images of physical shortcomings, an emotional defection. Obscurity lies in the allusion of an illusion, Obscenity hides in our physical intrusion. Enigmatic for immorality and eyeliner, Bind yourself to a pretty face, a physical confiner… Mirror, a detrimental tool of physical confinement, A seductive conspirator for emotional refinement, Simple people succumb and potential people falter, You paint a picture of simplistic skins people wish to alter… Mirror, why can’t you show me the value of my mind, Teach me the faults of my soul and not my face? Mirror, I’ve come to realize that only the weak succumb to you, Ignorant of themselves, only the worthless seek solely your grace. Mirror mirror on the wall, Who’s the most pathetic of them all?
