Song of LifeA Poem by DemyraLife...Someone lives, someone dies, Someone gets caught up in the middle. Someone smiles, someone cries, And some get caught up in the riddle. So tell me, Are you going to sing your song of life? Your opium infused idiosyncratic revelation, Only serves to reiterate my overwhelming desolation. So tell me, Are you going to sing your song of life? Your beautiful words make pretty scars, My thickening shadow blankets your stars. Sing your song of a life on mars. Multitudes of solitude, Intrude on my interlude, Your sugarcoated delusion appeasing to the worm, Ignorant to the reality that forces them to squirm. Defamate and imitate, antagonize and immolate, The world isn’t fair, so it doesn’t get under your hair? Don’t tell me I take this too serious-I’m well aware… Sing your beautiful song of life, I know carcasses of serene, I see the ashen soil beneath while you choose to see the superficial green. It’s a beautiful dream, But you have to realize that it’s nothing more. It’s a potent scream, Even though I know it doesn’t make things better anymore. Someone lives, someone dies, Someone gets caught up in the middle. Someone smiles, someone cries, And some get caught up in the riddle. The world isn’t fair, so it doesn’t get under your hair? Don’t tell me I take this too serious-I’m well aware… Sing your beautiful song of life, I know carcasses of serene, I see the ashen soil beneath while you choose to see the superficial green. © 2008 DemyraAuthor's Note
