Cowboy Poet

Cowboy Poet

A Poem by Demosthenes

I want to live simple. I’ll just sit on my rear. All I need is a pitcher of ice and a cooler of beer. I’ll sit in my chair out on my porch. I’ll think what I want and write it too. When the sun goes down so will I. When it rises so will I do. All day I’ll just sit and think with a cool drink. I’ll laugh and cuss and chew. Soon I’ll have written a book. Maybe they’ll like it. Maybe they won’t. I could care less, as long as you cook. I like things simple and easy. Just don’t forget the beer.

lol, I love this. (And I love those cowboys too, so that probably has something to do with it!) I think you did a great job...I wouldn't call it juvenile. It cracked me up...I love it.

Not exactly my cup of tea... A bit on the... juvenile side, shall we say. It does sound similar in tone to some of the things I've heard from other cowboy poets that live in my area, so rest assured that this piece is as annoying as theirs :P
