I am a Vampire.

this is one of my first poems. the idea came from a book i was reading called The Soccer Field is Empty.

I am a vampire.

Different from the rest.

I hide the secret

That lives inside me,

For if anyone knew

I would surely get a stake through the heart.

If I was ever exposed

To the sunlight

I would surely go up in ashes.

I am a vampire

hiding in the dark

Pretending not to be 

What I truely am.

If people knew

They would hold the stake

and hold my fate

In their hands.

I am a vampire

hiding my true self.

Afraid of being discovered.

I can only be myself

at night

hiding in the shadows

Like other creatures of the dark.

I am a vampire....
