Castle of Sand

Life gives us choices but sometimes the best choices don't always lead to solid ground.... sometimes sand is best.

It's not possible...

it's really not...

No matter how many times I try I can't rebuild my walls

Sand doesn't make good building material

even when you add water....

It still crumbles around you

Build it close enough to the ocean

The waves will come and wash it away...

Walls are hard to build,

A castle is harder still....

Think about what to use, sand has already failed you....

Sticks are washed away by the ocean as well and the wind will knock them over...

Concrete doesn't work...

It can be molded yes but molding it takes work and time...

Concrete is to easy but has it's own flaws.

Rock?

Rock could work?

But rocks are not perfect...

just like me....

They leave me protection with holes in it...

Sand is not prefect,

It's weak,

Doesn't last long,

and falls down time after time.

The sea may try to take it away.

But sand works...

In the end

All you have is a castle of sand...

Author's Note

you might have to read over it a few times but the main purpose of this poem is making the right decision in life and building up your "kingdom". Things are gonna knock you down but you just have to get back up like how the ocean knocks down your sand castle... so you rebuild it!

Very hard thing to do, keep trying to rebuild the walls, but being knocked down flat on your face time and time again because it's only sand... sand in an hourglass full of memories, a sand caste swept away by the tide, well penned indeed ;)
