Taken By the Water

Taken By the Water

A Story by D. C. Sunday
"

55 words short story assignment for class. Bleh, not my best.

"

Doubt sprouted through me as I came upon the riverside. The untamed waters roared boastfully, but I refused to cower in the presence of this killer; the one who had claimed my sister’s life.

I inhaled sharply through my nose then leaped, cherishing my last moments as airborne--before crashing.

Soon, I would join her.

It's very beautifully written. It envokes a lot of feelings and leaves room for thought - I like it! I begin to wonder who the narrator is... And what happened to the sister? What's going on? I would love to read more, yet I think it's more than enough that it is so short. It's beautiful.
