You May Be A Star- What If?

You May Be A Star- What If?

A Poem by Demetri J
"

The first in a series, asking questions and challenging the typical perceptions of life as we know it.

"
Have you ever fallen victim to sorrow and dismay?
Have you ever dealt with trauma, have you ever rued a day?
Have you ever felt a joy that brought tears to your eyes?
Have you considered what you do endears many lives?

Every fun time you have, every bad day you witness
Just might be the work of a writer at business
Your troubled times and the drama your living
May be viewed by a theater, permitted by ticket

You may be a star, spreading great cheer
To a laughing audience none of you hear
Or maybe the words you think to yourself
Are read by many and pile the shelves
Maybe all that you've known to love
Is just a fantasy viewed from above
You may be a star, held on a pedestal
Your life but a slot on a TV schedule

You may be a star, a figment in space
Brought alive by an actor who shares your face
You may be a star to a world in the distance
A work of fiction, your life nonexistent
So I challenge all those who skeptically mock,
If you doubt it's reality, prove that it's not...

This is a great poem. Many movies (and books) have themes such as this, and it's definately an interesting thought.

Great work, I've wondered about this before, and it's a cool thought. Yup, there's no way to prove otherwise...
One thing, just a little picky grammatical issue, on the third line of the second stanza, "Your troubled times and the drama your living," the first use of the word "your" was correct, but the second "your" should probably be "you're," at least it you mean to say what I think you do.
Anyway, this is excellent, and good thoughts. I will be adding it to my library. A pleasure to read. :)

Thought provoking piece of writing.
We are all blackholes made of smaller and smaller blackholes....Our root is the same in the sacred mean of Creation that links all event horizons...from the subatomic to the Universal..But that's just what I believe...We could be, as you say, some sort of hologram

I really, really liked the ending.........what is real? I beg to differ if someone tells me that many of us have not stopped at one time or the other and asked this question. Excellent work.

Also, if I turned out to be a star of some sort, I feel awfully sorry for those who took interest in my story, I've lived a dull one so far, I'd be one dusty book on their shelf.

I was accused of being a famous baseball player when I was young. Got old and now I look like a old goat. A interesting poem. I had offered to go on TV to express my views. I would not. I don't want to be popular. I want to help and fix. I like the thoughts create by your excellent poetry.
