Vain Redemption of the Broken DollA Poem by Nyssa Nyx“So...you can’t do anything? Then what good are you, then?!”
My heart wavers like the ripples of the lake
The lake of the blind, the tears of the conceited Endlessly rippling about, serenity diluted Selfishly ripped apart by ignorance Piece it back together I fall from my glass pendulum, shattering to bits Shards of my memories are splayed around me Why am I over there? I can only pick at chips that refuse to be picked up Piece it back together I’m staring at my reflection with false perception Touching the fragments of a lonely imbecile And the glass topples from stability, slicing my arms open Revealing the strings of my own deceit Piece it back together I never notice the darkness consuming my heart And the juvenile blossom only wilting Decaying petals flutter into my grasp, mistakes of the past The tears of vanity make themselves known again Piece it back together My eyes reject the reality placed before me And I futilely reach for those who’ve abandoned me “It’s all your fault, y’know?” But I never wanted to watch the world crumble Didn’t you hear me the first time? Piece it back together. © 2017 Nyssa NyxAuthor's Note
