Black (A Color Poem)

Black (A Color Poem)

A Poem by Nyssa Nyx
"

A poem I wrote for Creative Writing class about my favorite color.

"
Black
Surrounding the stars in space
An endless abyss
Flowers dead and wilting
The sound of darkness
The silence of death
Seizing of the sound waves
Colored licorice
Fine chocolate hidden in the drawers
The cream-filled oreos
A soft, comfy bed
A beautiful nightmare
The pressure of a fresh storm
Black can take you around the universe and back.

Submitted for the Poetry for All! (#2) contest hosted by Abby Lyri Q. ^_^/
(There was a spot on my computer covering the letters, it's actually Abby Lyn Q)

The teacher gave us a specific set of guidelines to follow (of course, we didn't have to follow it word for word), so it does have a sort of structure to it. I don't know where the outline for it went, but it was something like "Name the color, what is it, what does it look like, sound like, smell like, taste like, feel like, and what does the color do."
