GuiltA Poem by Summer D.
Guilt
I had a choice; between left and right.
I took a step to where I thought was right. What I didn’t know. What I didn’t understand. Was what they would demand. I swam without land in sight. Now, it unravels me. Slow and shaky. Till I am nothing more but a thread. What I thought was right; is no longer in sight. It is questionable. No longer tangible. Once a friend. Now an enemy. I see your bags. They’re awfully full. Have you come to stay? Are you just passing through? Now it unravels me. Slow and shaky. Till I am nothing more but an empty spool. A reminder of what once stood. Summer D.
