In the Corner of my Wedding Ring

In the Corner of my Wedding Ring

A Poem by DeliriousCerises
"

I love you my dear but understand I must let you go

"
Crossed faded in and out
On those bitter pills I swallowed
Falling fast from father's grace
Choking on your emotions

Taking time that's not mine
To delay the fierce unknown
Comfort cradles blazed lovers
Hiding from their own eyes

Please wait and hear me out
Those words I'll never say
Understand my silent cries
I can't be everything to you

Set me free from all you know
Walk in the wind on a candle lit path
The desperate goodbye caught in my throat
Just breath, and let me fade in and out

This lugubrious rendering speaks of a yearning and ardent longing to be free from the shackles of a love that's no longer there. It's sad, painful rhetoric is, indeed, even painful to read, because a lost love is much like losing a treasured gem. The luster and sparkle that was once there has all but faded to a black obelisk, filled with emptiness and hurt.
Nothing 'harsh' to attach to this one...nothing harsh at all.
