What is Love?

What is Love?

A Poem by Delilah Plain

What is love?

Is it something to be held?

What is love?

Is it something to be shown?

When I think of love

And all its glory,

I think of the sun

Shining in the morning.

When I think of love,

It’s a thing of which I care

And people like it when I share.

Love is not a physical thing,

It’s much more emotional.

Just like a mother’s love for her child,

It’s a precious thing that isn’t wild.

Like all other good things in this world,

It should be visible to the naked eye.

It should be given

Like a gift for Christmas.

What is love?

Love is a present.

For everyone worthy

And for some who aren’t.

This is really great. :) I like your metaphors. We have two very different definitions of love, but yours is really unique. Keep writing :)
