She's somewhere so far away

She's somewhere so far away

A Poem by Delhane

She keeps herself closed tight, lips squished into a zippered smile.
Eyes glassy with tears she tries to sell as diamonds.
She's fragile as a freshly hatched tiny baby bird lady, painted with potential she's been taught to lock up behind a bolted on mask.
She's locked tight, a strong metal safe thats been slowly rusting for years.
She paints each crack on her shell rainbow bright and pulls her smiler
wider
and tighter
and falser.
She's not here,
shes lost in translation,
lost in the shuffle,
lost in the mix,
maybe she's just lost.
She's hidden behind a mirror, deflecting the universe back unto itself. She doesn't seem to realize that her mirror has one way glass, and I see right through her.
