I just can't deal

When your frustration with the world overflows and there are no words, what do you say?

I can't deal today

 with these elevator emotions

that slither broken glass sharp up my spine and pound on my head

I can't deal today

with the loud bass of the pity looks

that turns to not so silent relief as corners are turned

I can't deal today

with my neon thoughts

that gutter out before I open mouth and break their cage

I can't deal today

with this second-hand life of disproportions

that gnashes toothless gums and rages soundlessly at electricity bills

I just can't deal today

Turn around, look the other way
