Seasons of my HeartA Poem by Absentee Reality CheckI folded a little story into a poem for a contest I just saw...so here it isSpring Is blood thicker than water or do they run the same? The bonds of mother and daughter dissipate like the rain Is cold warmer than hotter? Is love greater than pain? All we have is each other willing to share the blame Winter Is happiness greater than sadness when the tears start to flow? You left me there crying standing in the snow When was the start of this when did the madness grow? Loving you all over again is a pain I’ll have to fore go Summer Is honor greater than justice as I stand about to die? Will you make me have one last view of that cold blue endless sky? Is death enough to let me go and free me from our lies? Or will you keep me bound to earth and not let my spirit fly Fall Will the caring overcome the numbness as leaves fall on my grave? Or will you forever be to your past a terrible mindless slave Will you continue on this path and ignore all the love that I gave Or will you become the man that I longed for the one I wished to save Oh moving seasons of my heart A year it seems has past My life is now able to restart I am at peace now at last
