Empty Life

Empty Life

A Poem by Absentee Reality Check
"

How life feels sometimes...

"

Broken light bulbs litter streets

  Marked with blank signs

Empty houses line the roads,

Desolate and alone

Withered gardens and barren lives

Cover the road to my life

They say the road to hell is

Paved with good intentions

Well, I’ve been there, and I’m still there

And all I see is asphalt…

I love this one.

"They say the road to hell is
Paved with good intentions
Well, I've been there, and I'm still there
And all I see is asphalt"

Those are amazing lines! I love the imagery that you use in this piece. Its short and sweet.

Interesting piece; truly original.
I like the ,,gray,, imagery and the indirect description of the emptiness.
