Afraid of the Dark (from the monsters)

Child,

why are you so scared?

Of trembling shadows and falling leaves

Like a mouse that squeaks at each lightning crack

You burrow under flimsy blankets

come to me-

I cover all things, lay a thick blanket on

The restless world

My arms are wide and never-endings

Far more comforting than the sun

See how I shine and sparkle!

With the tears of babes such as you

Come, come to my embrace

And fall into my dark arms

To no longer be afraid
