A Convenient Betrayal

A Convenient Betrayal

A Poem by Almost Alive
"

Sigh.

"

Stretched arms
Waving hands
A pair of sealed lips worth more wore words
Than the picture of our eclipsing friendship

And just because you let me go
You believe to be the one in control

Stretched arms
Still hands
Didn't really mind all you said before
But what you did this time meant so much more

And just because you let me go
You believe to be the one in control

So where are you running to?
You'll fall asleep in an ambulance
Another bloodbath or accident
And nobody will wake you up

Stretched arms
Waving hands
One more of those nights that you spend alone
It's not like you have any choice

You better start getting used to
The hollow solitude in a kiss
And the bitter taste of the lips
If they makes you sleep at night

So where are you running to?
You'll fall asleep in an ambulance
Another bloodbath or accident
And I won't be there to wake you up

Oh, no, no, no
Won't be there to wake you up
Oh, no, no, no
Won't be there to wake you up

Oh, no, no, no
Don't think you can figure me out
Oh, no, no, no
Don't think you can figute me out

You might be already blind to see
The strings around each of your limbs
Even if you are the one that commands
They are the ones building up your demise

I hope someday you will understand
While decaying and rotting in my morbid dreams
That you will never escape from your own ignorance
Now ask yourself who was the one to lie

So where you running to?
You'll fall asleep in an ambulance
Another bloodbath or accident
And you'll wish that don't wake up

Ah, ha, ha, ha
How long until you ask for forgiveness?
Ah, ha, ha, ha
How long until you ask for forgiveness?

You can keep on dancing all you want
Counting the minutes of the night with drops of wine
Seeking affection in flexible hips
And losing what's left of your real self

You may believe I was the perfect tool
Because you don't seem to see who was the perfect fool
Another night like this and you'll surely wish
That you were all alone, you were really alone

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE it!! this poem has some intense feelings in it that i truly wish i was able to convey in words. I absolutely love the tone and wording of this poem. You truly showed how aware you were of the big picture in the situation, and I love that implied insightfulness that is expressed. good write!! Please feel free to rate a few of mine!

So mysterious and so mean.
I love it!
It makes me crawl under the lines and find the meaning.
Keep on writing :P
