The Fair PrincessA Poem by DeidaraA rose emerges from the frost, while the snow covered grass waves slightly. The chilly river floods over its banks and life rushes to usher in the new dawn. Deep blue mountains stand at attention on the horizon. A cold wind sweeps through the green plains from the west, and a luminous sun rises from the east. The shadows of the trees murmur quietly amongst themselves. A flock of birds sing their song, squirrels bring forth a bounty of food, dogs quickly clear a path, and woodchucks sound the alarm. Softly she walks into the clearing. Mahogany hair flows regally behind her. Her pale complexion blends in with the snow and blood red lips form a small smile. A long, soft green dress wraps around her body, adorned with pansies, lilacs, and daffodils. Around her head rests a crown of Spring. Her feet are bare. Her hazel eyes scan the snowy valley. Carefully she sits upon the frozen throne. Her slender hand gently holds a scarlet scepter. And at once the valley welcomes the new monarch.
