I remember feeling this way too...that was quite some time ago...with the right kind of people and love in your life, this feeling goes away...you are right in saying that no amount of time will do, but the love of family and friends can do what time can't...
Like Deidara believes, there is no beauty in anything permanent... life is a compilation of fleeting moments.. :)
