In the Time of TimeA Story by J.J.R. StotlerA story of a man... In the days of days and the nights of nights, there lived a man who wanted nothing and sought no one. He lived just to live as he breathed just to breathe. He lived in a magical forest known by those close to him as The Relics. He could show people great things if he wanted to, but he never let anyone into his magical realm of understanding and knowledge. In the weeks of weeks, this man would yet out a loud howl as to accept the unacceptable. He deemed it necessary to say to the world, the outside world as well as his own, that there is nothing to fear but fearing the unfearable. He let out this howl and the world howled with him in one large stride. The calming wind settled every nerve of the system we know as community. The man charged his mind as he rested that day, and lay to rest for tomorrow’s bringings. In the hours of hours, the man wept. It was a weep of natural causes, for he wept with the world as it lost its own community members. He sat in ponderment and forgave the wind for taking away their brethren, for he knew it was not the wind’s fault, for he only did as he was told. The wind thanked the man for acknowledging that he had no control of the matter. As the man forgave, so did the world. And as they forgave, they let out the largest howl the wind ever heard. It calmed the seas and the oceans nearest and it hushed even the most raging of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. The man settled back into his inner emptiness and let out a large exhale. The world was right once again and all things could resume. © 2012 J.J.R. Stotler |
