Life of Quiet DesperationA Poem by A.M. Nelsonstory of unrequited love..
ghost touch, prostitute mouth words spill out like red wine staining the carpet.
held me as I trembled. shook. in pieces I fell into you whole and surrendered.
volition of love for the sake of love, and I felt you care. I know I felt it. I was lost you were found, silken hair, soft soft touch, you smelt of lavender, and my tongue tripped on yours; my eyes so lost in yours.
But you just stared out the window whispering sweet whispers your mouth sold to the easy choice, without those damn sticky questions.
As if you were just an empty promise- one my heart had made for me. just a light switch, just a dream, just a perfunctory goodnight kiss.
and so you left me all alone, two doors down; I imagined two bodies locked in a secret but you were always a ghost to me-- and all my secrets you now possess.
naked I could stand before you but you, I know, would be searching for other truths--
I live a life of quiet desperation. Your eyes, your smile; It has me hooked: forever. © 2008 A.M. NelsonReviews
