Worldly Word

Worldly Word

A Poem by A.M. Nelson

I am here but in the leaves
choking on the sounds of birds
hoot   howl  chirp
in strange rhythm as my tears

break with the crack of branches
trampled underfoot, whisper
with the rustle- secrets perched on
ear; free me to the dirt,
let me wriggle with the worms

I am here forever--
just a lonely word.

Wow, I would have to agree this is a short and real piece, like what you did, "I am here but in the leaves
choking on the sounds of birds
hoot howl chirp," it almost brought a realness in speaking and delivering your thoughts. I think there is flavor in your writing, keep it up :)

short and undeniably real.... to me the best is the most by the least.
Bravo
