Believing Wrong

Believing Wrong

A Poem by Dee

I've believed in you for so long
You've been my best friend
But how could this after many years be so wrong?

You whispered in my ear every day and night
The beliefs you had for me
The confidence you had in me
For never accomplishing anything

Not sure why I chose to believe
In something so sadistic
In someone who never smiled for me
For someone who broke me

When I wanted to gain life
You were unhappy
Thinking of my in capabilities
I thought I could break these chains
But you only reinforced them seven fold
And now with you I'm scared to grow old

My point of view was never right
And you believed in every lie
That was spoken to your soul
And it left us with no where to go
May be I could have prayed it all away
But I think leaving
Has left me nothing but to rely on faith

I love this. It shows how strong of an influence friends have on us, and how hard it can be when we have to turn away for our own good. I don't quite understand how the last stanza relates to the poem, but other than that, it really is good.
