What if...A Poem by Deepa RagunathanWhat if the facts were false? What if life is not what it seems? What if I am asleep now, and this reality is but a dream? Could it be that my slumber's realm Is the Existence, and the life? What if I am a dying star, dreaming of a normal life? Am I in reality a spirit in strife, seeking refuge from some war? How am I to know at all If what I see isn't delusion? Maybe I am under invasion, or a face painted on a wall. What if we are all just imagination Of an active mind elsewhere? Could my possessions be fictional fare divined to cause another's elation? What if, what if... my mind resounds, Puzzling on the reality of illusion. Who needs any of this education, If life is really just doomed grounds?
