What If ?

Some roses blossom today 

Just to wither tomorrow 

And some others get carried 

Away by the draconian wind 

And there are roses just like you 

Dried and died from the lack of light

 

Every second someone loses the battle 

But life goes on leaving the dead behind 

Life goes on and it seems like nothing 

Can stop it or slow it down 

 

There were days when you were alone 

Chasing your own shadow on the walls 

When you get tired you sit in the corner 

And in your head you go back to the days 

When you had someone to love you 

Secretly you shed a tear wondering if 

There is a lonely soul somewhere feeling 

The same and what will happen if you 

Could find each other , if you could just 

Hold each other's hands 

Would it be a happier world ? 

Would it save your lives ?

This is wonderful! It completely captures the essence of loneliness, and how it is so overlooked because it actually can cause death - spiritual or physical. And it's so true, isn't it, how nothing can stop the pace of life? I particularly liked that second stanza, because there have been so many times when I've just wanted a free day in my life where I didn't have to worry about anything, people, deadlines, work, future, anything to do with life. Does that make sense? Ah well, good job!
