Dear Jon Letter to The End

Dear Jon Letter to The End

A Poem by Writer Boyer

People write letters

To family,

            To Friends,

                        To the deceased.

Why not a letter to death?

Dear Death,

Take me when my time comes.

I want peace.

I want happiness.

I want all those things

a child can only imagine

you to be.

Make it Painless.

Make it Quick.

Make it so they don’t cry.

There’s only

one phrase I want to be

thinking of when I die:

I’m not afraid to die,

but I’m afraid to live.

The cold sweats of nothing.

The fear.

The over whelming cold chill.

Take me in my sleep,

let my last words be

My last breath.

Let my last words on

this world be nothing

but a peaceful sound.

Death shouldn’t be cried over

It should be praised

For giving new life

And ending the pain

of another
