Silent Moments

Silent Moments

A Story by DeepInThought
"

I thought of this after I read 'The Book Theif' since that is in the first person of Death too.

"
Silence. It is a sound. But it doesn't exist. Not anymore anyway. In this busy, polluted city, scavenging pigeons and people who think they have something more important to do than wait. I wait. I wait all the time. I wait and watch in the most dramatic era in time. I am in Nowhere; somewhere between Hell and Heaven, where no wandering soul ventures until the end. When I claim their mind and bodies, their restless souls and lifeless hearts. I am lifeless. I have lived from all creation. I make way for evolution. I am neither human nor beast; I am a dark soul, more restless than any other. I am Death.
