Dust
I see you!
Everywhere
You have invaded my life.
You have draped yourself across the bookcase
Curled up between the rungs of the dinning room chairs
You,all your family and all your friends
Have squatters rights beneath the bed.
I sit here and draw a path
Through you on the console table
stirring you up addles my nose and brings tears to my eyes.
Damn you! I must be rid of you once and for all!
What is the sense? You’ll only return tomorrow.
I can’t afford to hire out
And Lord knows I’d rather write about you
Than actually do something about you.
What are you anyways? Where do you come from?
Oh, nope can't go there, I will freak myself out big time!
Why don't I give you the boot?
Maybe I’ve realized that we are kindred spirits
And the old adage of “dust to dust” makes me
Think that you and I share some kind of cosmic connection
Nah!
I’m just being lazy!
Where is that cloth and Pledge?
The happiest moment of human life will offer good sense of longivity. You make others to smile and make good thinking. The quality of writing such thoughtful and funny are the gift to the writers like you. My best wishes. Be happy and cheerful. With regards.
I like the metaphor used in this piece. It says a thousand words yet they all mean the same. Dust is everywhere and no matter how you get rid of it, it still there 24/7. Sometimes, we barely notice it, but it's there, clumped together in comfort. Life is just full of dust. It needs cleaning everyday. If we can't get all those dusts away, at least, the constant cleaning will prevent it from forming dirty mud balls. On the other light, the connection (that is, dust to dust) is, I think, different in nature. We were created from dust and when we die, our bodies will be buried and decomposed. Thus, it is a different matter entirely. One that comes from the bible.
I enjoyed the quirkiness of the piece. You really infuzed a bit of humor with your poetic prowess. I truly enjoyed. It made me smile and wipe the dust off of my desk. lol!

Think that you and I share some kind of cosmic connection

lovely write..
Can I write? Yes. But can I write well? Probably not, but I will continue to work at it, because I love the written word- or well written words strung together to convey a great thought. I don't edit.. more..
