Pretender

Pretender

A Poem by Floydina White

What is the meaning of life,
why am I here?
to drift through life so endlessly
without    a    single    tear?

Or, better yet a million tears
to ease away the pain
time and time again I cry
and    still    remain    the    same.

Oh, what's the use of crying?
The feeling will never stray
I’ll probably feel sorry for myself
and    pretend    everything's    ok.
