Separation Anxiety

Separation Anxiety

A Poem by Floydina White

Since the day we went our separate ways
I've never been the same
Every time I hear our song
My heart contracts in pain.

How could I suppress the memories,
The tenderness of our embrace?
Your touch, the sweet desperation
Can never be erased.

This is sweet, and simple. However, I find that sweet and simple is no longer enough. This needs depth. For an emotion such as this, real separation anxiety, there needs to be passion. Give me some fierce words! The rhyming was a little above average, but I don't care for rhyming much in general. Overall this was, as I said earlier, sweet and simple. The length is good, and judging by your title choice (the title is everything), I can tell you have some real potential. There is a wild writer living inside of you, so let her loose!
