Love or Something like That

Love or Something like That

A Poem by Floydina White

Can you be my anodyne?
My heart contracts in pain.
But every time I think of you
My hearts feels whole again.

Can you be my lullaby?
I cannot continue sleeping.
All night long I toss and turn
All thoughts of you are leaping.

Can you be my valentine?
I’ve made you a red paper heart!
From the first time that we met,
I had fallen for you from the start.

We can sit and watch the world go by
In my crazy little world
We can cuddle, kiss and stay forever
—Let our love become unfurled.
