If

If

A Poem by Floydina White

If it could all be different,
If it were all the same,
Would I still be me
If I never felt this pain?

If you would only tell me,
If you would only say
Everything I want to hear
You would make my day!

But, would you still ignore me
And fail to hear my plea?
If I could only tell you,
Then you’d really see!

And if you could only see me
For who I really am,
If you could only smile at me,
If you could give a damn!
