Digital Heartbreak

Digital Heartbreak

A Poem by Floydina White

It started out with something as silly as a posting...
And ended in heartbreak.
All the memories, all the good times
Are more that I can take.

I’ll never forget that day we met
In the heart of Union Square
Now it seems as though we've never met--
As though you'll never care.

Was it all a dream, I ask myself
Did I never put up that post?
Of all the guys that have come and gone
It’s you I think of the most...

Do you still think about me?
Do you see me in your dreams?
Do you still love my sarcastic wit?
Is nothing the way it seems?

And so I close that chapter in my life
And swear not to post another ad
Once bitten, twice shy is sound counsel...
So why do I feel so sad?
