Tedium Time

Tedium Time

A Poem by Dee Oddbins
"

my home town

"
I can't relate, it gets me down,
there is nothing left in fickle town,

strange impressions, crazy dreams,
no-one's just the way they seem,

Hardened eyes and attitudes
never wills, but maybe shoulds,

Reasons why are not the same
shut the door and play the game,

Stinking in your stupid breath
longer lasting living Death.

Honestly I dislike strict rhymes. Recently I forced myself to write a sonnet- just to see if my brain would allow it. The results make me gassy. That being said, I adore minimalism and light hearted- almost careless or aloof takes on serious subjects. So I love this despite my better judgement. It only goes to show that good writing - and therefore good writers- can transcend whatever bullshit rules I have limited myself with. Well done. I nod my head and give a sober golf clap.
