Play it again Sam

Play it again Sam

A Poem by Dee Oddbins

Do you remember the fourth of September,
The way we danced, how we danced that day,
With your lilac hair and my green satin dress,
We laughed
And we cried
And we fell off the end of the bar,
We sat in the corner with smiles in our eyes,
You looked to my Father to show some surprise,
You with your cocktails and me with my beer,
The man with the roses stood ready to cheer.
I saw your face in my bathroom mirror
and wondered what was so special.

I enjoyed this read. A snapshot in time and in colour as well. Reminds me of being young and what fun it was.
