ivy

ivy

A Poem by DecentlyOkayWriter
"

clings

"
how have I been gone for so long?
the earth seems to call my name, dragging me into the moss
across the path of no return, what could possibly go wrong?
the world around me sees souls as something to carve into, emboss

how could nature be much worse?
my tracks leave prints on the soil, the soil doesn't imprint on me
ivy bristles and brews, mother nature's tune, a step on the course
snagged around my wrists and neck before I can react, break free

how. .
everything fades out into what I didn't know it could be
somehow
I don't regret the fee
