Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving

A Poem by DecentlyOkayWriter
"

gathered round the table, laughing fills the air

"
hands clasped, we pray
hoping for savior from within
we celebrate this holiday
with a stunning kind of din
just in case this Thanksgiving Day
is the last one we are in

gathered round the table
laughing fills the air
believing in a fable
still the facade doesn't tear
a child sleeps in their cradle
a little cousin learns how to swear

today will soon be done, so celebrate while you're able.

A little late, I guess, but still very pertinent. For the reasons you very well display, Thanksgiving brings family together like no other holiday. (It's my favorite) "today will soon be done, so celebrate while you're able." these last words are profound and true.
