Headache

Headache

A Poem by DecentlyOkayWriter
"

coffee runs dry, adrenaline disappears in full

"
the shower hits your skin
burning your fever away with a hot touch
but the headache remains
coffee runs dry
adrenaline disappears in full
reminding you it's time to lay
in your bed so soft and kind
leading you into your dreams of lies
the hazy mornings giggle and fade
as the sun washes them away
leaving the migraine firmly in place
oh dear, why won't this headache go away
pretty little lights dance on the ceiling
you're not quite sure where they leads
sleeping at your desk by five
tired by your hope derived from lies

I cried when I heard the coffee ran dry. That part moved me to actual tears. ;) I keep about 3 big cans of Colombian Beans stocked in my coffee table. I don't mean a living room card table. This is solid white oak brass trimmed 42 inches high, 24 inches deep and eighteen inches wide. My coffeemaker sits in the middle of it like a pharaoh on his throne surrounded by clean ceramic cups and a thermos carafe. There are two deep brass latched cabinets underneath. The bottom cabinet is stocked with bottled spring water and the top with filters stored inside a modern piece of ancient pottery and several cans of Colombian coffee. In case of a power outage I have a 100% stainless steel 10 cup percolator and a propane powered burner. Now you understand my tears. This was a great write, reminded me of my drinking days...or the day after. ;)
