A Beautiful Snake

A Beautiful Snake

A Poem by DecentlyOkayWriter
"

she's really just a snake

"
Oh, she's suddenly beautiful
-Mr. Jones, Counting Crows

as the wind sweeps her hair to the side
her smile shines bright
making her completely beautiful
but it's not her looks who trap her victims
it's those words that make you think she cares
snaring you with that interested tilt of her head
the calm, gentle words that make you forget
she's really just a snake
once she's got you in her hold
she'll never let go
she eats makeup to make you think
that she's beautiful on the inside
but makeup can't hide everything

Illusion holds us for a while but if it makes us write a poetry on it, it has something more (maybe) :)
