Welcome The New Generation

Welcome The New Generation

A Story by DecentlyOkayWriter

Hello, Gen Alpha

"
If your reading this, chances are you made the cut. But, if you're like me, you didn't, oh so sadly. Gen A started 2010. That means they are- I mean, WE are currently anywhere between actively being born and finishing up middle school. We are the 'new' young. We went through the pandemic, just like Gen z,  but now, we get our turn, I guess. We're being told "Go make the world yours." which, to be fair may be more than the other generations were told. But the world is looking... a bit bleak for us. Not that there's anything horrible, we're just surrounded by news of war and people who doubt us, and we may be a little overwhelmed. Our 'vibes' consist of horrible grammar, a bathroom appliance, and a state. But we will be fine. Because if we know anything, it's that a bit of internet really boosts your confidence nowadays. Let's see what the world thinks of us. We're.. lazy, have zero attention spans.. oh. They can't even decide on when we came into existence. Let's.. scrap this and try again
Hello, the new generation! Me, one of the young Gen Z's is here to guide you in this very hectic thing called existence

[<Scrap that. I barely have the hang of existence either.>]

The flaws of the world are evident in every aspect of society. From the devastating effects of climate change to the ongoing issues of inequality and injustice, there is no shortage of problems that need to be addres- no-! I can't just be like 'better get started on fixing the world already.'

{Take 10. The teen looks directly into the camera, before giving a nervous smile.}

Welcome to the world. You're in for a hell of a ride.

                    Enjoy it while it lasts.

The Gen Z quietly gave up. Let's hope Gen A  goes out with a bang. Let's do a quick.. ending credits for Gen Z, shall we? I say they earned that.

There are 68.6 million Gen Z's living in the United States. 64% of Gen Zs use Instagram at least once per day. Climate change is Gen Z's greatest fear. Gen Z is more likely to receive therapy or mental health treatment than any other generation.

The numbers don’t look great for Gen Z adolescents- Recent data found the following among high school Gen Z students:

  • 29% experience poor mental health
  • 42% have persistent feelings of sadness or hopelessness
  • 22% have considered suicide
  • 18% have made a suicide plan
  • 10% have attempted suicide
Their greatest strength is said to be adaptability.

I think- we all need luck right now.

Good luck Millennials, I hope the world changing from what you made won't be that bad
Good luck Gen Z, let's keep going
Good luck Gen A, may the world be ever in your favor.
